Airlines are desperately urging you to book a flight.

Airline CEOs are in their flop era. It turns out, Americans aren’t rushing to book domestic flights as the airlines had hoped when they set their overly ambitious 2025 targets. Blame economic instability, fluctuating tariffs, and the fact that no one wants to spend $800 for a cramped seat next to a crying toddler. Delta, Southwest, United, and the other usual suspects are now scaling back their growth plans after realizing they have too many empty seats and not enough passengers. Even corporate travel is pulling back, with “essential” trips to places like Tampa getting fewer approvals as the economy falters. The outcome? Cheaper tickets, with airfare dropping 5.3% in March and 4% in February.

Netflix Aims for Trillion-Dollar Market Cap — And Honestly, Same

Netflix has set its sights on becoming a trillion-dollar company by 2030, and we can't help but admire the ambition. After a stellar Q1 performance, reporting $6.61 per share and a 54.8% year-over-year increase, the streaming giant is on a roll. With its stock up 39% in just six months, Netflix is leaving Apple, Amazon, and Disney in the dust. But hey, a $1 trillion market cap? Totally achievable, right? Keep streaming, keep dreaming.

iPhones Are Moving to India: Apple Makes a Big Shift

Apple is packing up and moving operations to India. The company plans to manufacture most iPhones bound for the U.S. in India by the end of 2026, aiming to distance itself from China as tariffs grow more problematic. Apple is in "urgent talks" with Foxconn and Tata, navigating the financial risks posed by Trump's import policies. While manufacturing iPhones in India costs 5–10% more, Apple seems willing to pay the price to avoid the ongoing complications with China. India is gearing up for its moment in the spotlight, with new factories emerging rapidly, although parts are still unusually expensive.

Alert: The Anti-Tesla is Here

Slate Auto, a new EV startup backed by Jeff "buy-the-moon" Bezos, has just unveiled the ultimate anti-Tesla. It’s affordable, customizable, and intentionally low-tech — no touchscreens, no automatic windows, no paint, just pure vibes. The vehicle can transform from a two-seat pickup to a five-seat SUV, like a sad Transformer. They promise it’ll cost under $20K with tax credits and hit the streets by 2026. According to the CEO, the auto industry has neglected everyday people in its pursuit of robot cars. Slate's mission: create the affordable EV everyone talks about but no one else has delivered. Interesting. Let’s see how it goes.

Instagram Starts Snitching on Teens Using AI

Instagram is now acting as the digital hall monitor, using AI to catch teens lying about their age. If the algorithm suspects you're a teen pretending to be older, it’ll automatically switch you to a "Teen Account" with all the restrictions, even if your profile looks fully grown. Teen Accounts limit who can message you, what you can see, and generally treat you like you’re still grounded. Meta’s been using AI to monitor users for a while, but now it’s officially calling out those fake birthday claims. Happy Sweet 16 — meet your digital babysitter.

Lab-Grown Teeth Are Coming to Save Your Sad Smile

Humans might finally join sharks and alligators in the "grow new teeth" club. Scientists at King’s College London have successfully grown a tooth in a lab dish, offering an alternative to braces, dentures, and expensive smile makeovers. Instead of dealing with painful implants, you could one day regrow your own teeth directly from your jaw, with no screws or rejection issues. Lab-grown teeth could be stronger, longer-lasting, and less invasive. While we’re still years away from ditching the dentist’s chair altogether, there’s hope that your next set of teeth might involve less crying and drilling.

EPA Faces Major Setbacks Amid Budget Cuts

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is undergoing significant restructuring under the Trump administration. Proposed budget cuts of up to 65% could lead to the elimination of the Office of Research and Development (ORD), affecting approximately 75% of its 1,200 staff. This reorganization threatens critical research initiatives, including studies on toxic pollutants and wildfire smoke, potentially compromising public health and environmental safety. Read more

DOJ Sues States Over Climate Actions

The U.S. Department of Justice has filed lawsuits against Hawaii, Michigan, New York, and Vermont, challenging state-level climate initiatives. The lawsuits argue that these state actions, such as suing fossil fuel companies for climate-related damages and implementing climate superfund laws, conflict with federal authority and the Trump administration's energy policies. State officials defend these measures as necessary to address climate crises and hold polluters accountable. Read more

Deadpool Is Close to Owning a Premier League Team.

Ryan Reynolds is living out every FIFA career mode dream in real life. His team, Wrexham A.F.C., just made a massive leap from League One to the Championship League, putting them one step away from the Premier League. Not bad for a club that many laughed at when Ryan and Rob McElhenney bought it in 2021. Reynolds shared his usual heartfelt Instagram post, reminding everyone that they were serious about aiming for the Premier League. Wrexham is now riding three consecutive promotions, and Ryan's still Deadpool. It's all a bit strange, but beautiful.
