Hailey Bieber Secures $1 Billion From Her 10-Product Skincare Line
Hailey Bieber just sold her skincare brand, Rhode — not even three years old — to E.L.F. Beauty for a staggering $800 million upfront, with a potential $200 million more on the line. That’s a cool $1 billion for a brand with just ten products and a whole lot of vibe. The beauty world is still reeling. Legacy brands like Glow Recipe, Makeup by Mario, and One/Size have been hustling longer and selling more — but none of them married a pop star, weathered TikTok drama, or dropped lip gloss from a phone case.
By March, Rhode had already pulled in $212 million in sales. Fans line up for 14 hours just to get their hands on her products — or more accurately, her entire aesthetic. E.L.F. sees it as brand loyalty. The rest of the industry is calling it straight-up magic.
JetBlue and United Just Launched ‘Blue Sky’ — A Mile-Sharing Pact to Keep Flying High
JetBlue and United are joining forces in a new loyalty program mashup called Blue Sky. Rolling out this fall (pending regulatory approval), the partnership lets travelers earn and redeem miles — and enjoy perks like priority boarding, preferred seating, and same-day flight changes — across both airlines.Think: frequent flyer benefits without the exclusivity. While both carriers will continue to run and price their own flights, you’ll be able to book either airline through both websites. United also gets a second shot at JFK, with up to seven daily flights by 2027 after quietly pulling out in 2022.
The win-win? JetBlue flyers unlock more international options, and United loyalists gain stronger access to the Northeast — JetBlue’s home turf.Cue the buzzwords from the execs: “innovation,” “enhanced experience,” and yes, “synergy.” Whether or not the skies get bluer, one thing’s clear — loyalty just got more flexible.
Elon Musk Wants to Build the World’s Largest Rocket Garage in Texas
Elon Musk just announced plans for a “gigabay” in Texas — a colossal hangar capable of storing up to 1,000 Starship rockets per year. According to Musk, it’ll be “the biggest structure in the world.” Because, of course it will be. Subtlety has never been his thing.
This mega-rocket garage is the latest chapter in Musk’s grand “escape Earth” mission. The endgame? Launch daily flights, colonize Mars, and turn humanity into a two-planet species before we manage to wipe ourselves out. The first gigabay will rise at SpaceX’s Starbase in Texas, with another already planned for Florida. Long-term, SpaceX envisions 1,000–2,000 Starships blasting off to Mars every two years, carrying gear and dreams for a dusty Martian outpost — where lentils might be the cuisine of choice, and space diapers the dress code.

Google’s Robotaxi Fleet Hits 10 Million Rides
Waymo, Google’s self-driving taxi arm, has officially clocked 10 million paid rides — all without a human in the driver’s seat. Yep, that’s 10 million people who willingly hopped into a car with no one at the wheel and no one to panic if things got weird. Back in August, Waymo was handling 10,000 rides a week. Now it’s cruising at 250,000 weekly, with March alone spiking 27%. Apparently, folks in San Francisco, LA, and Phoenix are perfectly comfortable letting a high-tech Roomba chauffeur them around town And Waymo’s just getting started. Austin is already live, and next up: Atlanta, Miami, D.C., and a growing list of cities about to hand over the keys to the algorithm.
ChatGPT Just Beat Human Therapists at Their Own Game
In a recent study, ChatGPT-4 went toe-to-toe with real-life therapists in couples therapy scenarios — and came out on top. Researchers presented identical prompts to both licensed professionals and the AI, then had a panel of experts rate their responses on empathy, professionalism, and cultural sensitivity. The surprise? ChatGPT didn’t just hold its own — it actually scored higher, especially in empathy. Yes, empathy. The thing therapists are literally trained for. While the humans brought advanced degrees and years of experience, ChatGPT had a single prompt and zero PTO. And still won.
So next time you and your partner are mid-argument, maybe save the $200 and just… ask the bot.

Northern Lights Could Illuminate Northern U.S. After Strong Solar Storm
Following a powerful solar storm over the weekend, the northern lights may be visible across several northern U.S. states, including Alaska, Washington, Minnesota, and New York. This event is linked to a coronal mass ejection from the sun during its peak 11-year activity cycle, which intensifies aurora displays. While the storm caused brief disruptions to high-frequency radio and satellite communications, it also offers an incredible chance for viewers in dark, clear-sky locations to witness this natural light show. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) recommends checking their space weather forecasts for optimal viewing times. Read more
Voyager Technologies Plans $1.6 Billion IPO Amid Growing Space Industry
Voyager Technologies, a Denver-based defense and space technology firm, is preparing for an initial public offering (IPO) targeting a $1.6 billion valuation. The company, which has executed over 2,000 missions worldwide, is developing Starlab — a commercial space station project in collaboration with Airbus, Mitsubishi, and Palantir. Voyager expects to raise around $319 million by selling 11 million shares, with its stock set to trade on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker “VOYG.” The company recently reported $34.5 million in net sales for the first quarter but also increased its operating losses. The IPO comes as government spending on space exploration and defense surges. Read more

Scientists Confirm Earth's Inner Core Is Slowing Down
A groundbreaking study published in Nature has confirmed that Earth's inner core is rotating at a slower pace compared to the planet's surface. This phenomenon, known as "super-rotation," has been a topic of debate among scientists for decades. The research, led by the University of Southern California, utilized seismic data to analyze the movement of the inner core. The findings suggest that the inner core's rotation is now decelerating, which could have significant implications for our understanding of Earth's magnetic field and its geodynamic processes. This discovery marks a significant advancement in geophysical research, offering new insights into the Earth's interior dynamics. Read more

U.S. Braces for Extreme Heat This Summer
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has issued a severe heat alert for the United States, warning that summer 2025 could be one of the most dangerous in decades. Significantly above-average temperatures are expected across nearly the entire country, including parts of Alaska. This unusual nationwide trend is being driven by a combination of persistent atmospheric patterns, elevated sea surface temperatures, and the ongoing impacts of climate change. NOAA anticipates widespread, coast-to-coast heatwaves, exacerbated in urban areas by the urban heat island effect. These extreme temperatures elevate the risk of heat-related deaths, which already surpass fatalities from storms. The intense heat could also worsen wildfire threats and strain the power grid and infrastructure. The report underscores the urgent need for adaptation and safety measures, while emphasizing the broader implications of climate change on public health and environmental stability. Read more
Trump Administration Moves to Open Alaskan Wilderness to Oil Drilling
The Trump administration has initiated steps to reverse a key environmental regulation from the previous presidency, aiming to open large portions of Alaska’s 23 million-acre National Petroleum Reserve (NPR-A) to oil drilling. The U.S. Interior Department announced a proposal to discard protections that had restricted oil and gas activity on 13 million acres deemed "special areas." Interior Secretary Doug Burgum emphasized the administration’s goal to boost domestic energy production by cutting regulatory “red tape.” This move fulfills a campaign pledge to the fossil fuel industry and follows an executive order prioritizing Alaskan resource development. While some industry groups support the decision, environmentalists and Indigenous communities have criticized it for threatening sensitive Arctic ecosystems. Despite regulatory rollbacks, oil companies have shown limited interest in Alaskan drilling due to environmental opposition and high operating costs, as evidenced by a recent failed lease auction in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. Taylor Swift Reclaims Her Masters for $360 Million
Taylor Swift just pulled off the most expensive nostalgia move in music history. After years of legal battles, cryptic song clues, and strategic re-recordings, she reclaimed her master recordings from Shamrock Capital for a reported $360 million — about what the firm paid back in 2020 after Scooter Braun’s controversial acquisition.
Now, after two decades of public drama, heartbreak, and unreleased tracks, Taylor owns her first six albums outright, along with all the music videos, tour films, album art, and the emotional weight that comes with them. It’s like buying back your childhood home — but swap the beige carpets for Grammy trophies and chart-topping hits.
