On a day highlighted by President-elect Donald Trump ringing the NYSE opening bell, Wall Street's post-election rally stumbled. A hotter-than-expected inflation report on Thursday unnerved investors, raising concerns about future interest rates. The Nasdaq fell 0.6%, dipping below the 20,000 mark, while the S&P 500 declined by 0.5%. The Dow also pulled back, losing 234 points (0.5%). Even Trump's market influence couldn't withstand the rising inflation worries.

Once the go-to for saving money, Airbnbs aren’t always the best deal these days. They remain budget-friendly for longer stays and large groups, but shorter stays often come with hidden cleaning fees, driving up the cost compared to hotels. According to a NerdWallet study, Airbnbs are 32% cheaper for a seven-night stay than for a single night, due to multiday discounts and cleaning fees. However, for one or two-night stays, hotels might be the more cost-effective option as cleaning fees can make short Airbnb stays more expensive.

iOS 18.2: A Game-Changing Update (Well, Almost)
image: apple
Apple just dropped iOS 18.2, officially making your iPhone smarter than you. Genmojis are now a thing—because standard emojis just weren't cutting it. If you’re in an artsy mood, Image Playground lets you create random images from your photos or bizarre descriptions.
Siri, now ChatGPT-powered, will give you answers that never seem to end. iPhone 16 users get Visual Intelligence, a feature that magically identifies what your camera is looking at, along with a two-stage shutter.
The Mail app finally got a makeover, neatly organizing your emails so you can pretend you have it all together. And, in a minor miracle, Apple has partially fixed the notorious Photos app. It's still chaotic, but at least it’s a bit more organized.
Update now and pretend you’ve been eagerly waiting for these 'revolutionary' features.
Breakthrough Magnetism Discovery Could Revolutionize Device Speeds
Researchers have identified a new type of magnetism, altermagnetism, that could dramatically enhance the speed of digital devices. This discovery has the potential to enable magnetic memory that operates up to 1,000 times faster. Altermagnetism differs from conventional magnetism, with tiny magnetic bits aligning in a novel way, with each structure rotated relative to its neighbors. Scientists at the University of Nottingham have managed to control this phenomenon in minuscule devices.
